Mary Queen of Apostles School has quite a few resources that are available to you at home too. These could be used for general information, research, building skills, and links to practice sites connected to our textbook series in mathematics, religion, spelling, and vocabulary. We also have language arts resources that encourage reading and Accelerated Reader.  IXL Math, an online math program is individualized for our students and can be used at school, at home, and on the go!

child on computer Discovery Education
Discovery Education is an amazing site. This is a safe, child-friendly search engine and a site that can be used to find general information on any topic. It is a closed site that is funded by the Diocese of Greensburg through the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit. It is developed for students.

The materials that can be found on this site include images, full videos and clips, articles, encyclopedia articles, games, maps, simulations, activities, audio clips, and events. The list goes on and on! The site can be searched by subject, key word, and grade level. It is nice to have a list of things that are appropriate for the age of a child. It even provides the information needed to cite what is used for reports so that a bibliography or works cited page is easily completed.

Sometimes teachers may link videos that are to be watched to the site. But generally, once logged in, the area for research is in the section called Streaming found near the top of the page. The login user name for our school is iu7np.mqa.student and the password is provided to the children in school. Please email the principal or the computer teacher if your child cannot remember the password. The site is good for all ages and all grade levels.

Code.org
Code.org is a site that promotes coding as it applies to computer science.  It is taught in K-8 at MQA but can easily be continued at home!

Accelerated Reader
This resource is for reading comprehension. The Accelerated Reader website can only be used to find a suitable title at home. The test for any AR title are completed at school.

MQA's Follett Destiny Library
Use Follett Destiny to the library collections at the Freeport Road Site or the Greenwald Site.  Once you have selected a site, use Destiny Quest to make a list of books you would like to read or to track those you have checked out and read.

Mathematics, Spelling, Vocabulary, and Religion Textbook Sites
There are websites for each of these subjects that help students prepare for tests, study, learn online, complete practice tests, and even play games.  Simply visit the link above and find the grade level for the series.  In religion select the We Believe Catholic Identity books.  You can visit each chapter or unit.  Explore the options!
